It means we’re HALF WAY screwed.
If it passes it would be in your best interest to not work.
you’ll get more government benefits, free health care, you can do what you want when you want, no boss to answer to. why work when your success is punished and failure is rewarded.
Trouble ahead.
Doesn’t mean much. Basically, there will be fewer uninsured people. Insurance companies won’t be able to drop you if you get sick (they can now!). You won’t lose your insurance or see the rates soar if you lose your job and as an individual you won’t have to pay ridiculous rates to get or keep a policy. As a young person, you’ll pay low rates, since they go up with age.
You are so screwed. I’m sorry. We tried to stop this. The fact is we don’t know how bad it will get. It’s going to take decades to unravel all the damage these children who got voted in are causing and fix it. This Congress must be stopped next year when 1/3 of them are up for re-election. The damage they will do before that is frightening.
Josh, don’t buy into the lies! There won’t be any insurance companies. They will cease to exist. Hundreds of thousands of companies that have nothing to do with health insurance will cease to exist. People don’t start up or invest in companies that LOSE money. This Marxist government is destroying the ability of an American business to make money. They are engaged in a war on profits. You cannot have a healthy economy with a government like this. It’s impossible.
It will mean that Americans rejected the lies & fear mongering of the unhinged GOP.
it means the 100000s of people in our country you have no health care will actually have some. so what if you get more taxes, i think it’s worth it if you can help a dying mother of cancer, a disease stricken child, just look at it as helping the less fortunate
yEAH YOUR TAXES WILL GO UP SOME KIND OF WAY EVEN IF THIS DOES NOT PASS…..
IF YOU MAKE OVER 500K A YEAR, THEN IT WILL GO UP LIKE 5%, WHICH IS INEXCUSABLE.
It means the clock has struck 12 midnight , and its time to lock and load . A WAR is Coming an ideological WAR of TRUTH and DEEDS vs LIES. The TRUTH will Prevail in this fight the left has no choice but to lose they have no ammunition .
Be prepared for rationed health care and long lines to get seen by your physician when you are ill or injured. And yes, you will be taxed significantly for it. I would anticipate over the next 5 years to pay approximately 45% of your income in taxes. Welcome to Socialism, the only jobs that will exist in the next 20 years to be that of the government.
Let’s not put the cart before the horse. The bill will have a hard time in the Senate, if the Democrats use the Nuclear Option (51 votes versus the normally required 60) there will be heck to pay for years. The Dems will have ruined the legislative process for all time. If the bill does pass the Senate with the 60 votes it will result in several things. First, fewer jobs, as industry moves more jobs overseas, where taxes are lower and governments help with tax credits. Second, higher taxes for industry and small businesses, and that means fewer jobs. Lastly, even though low income job holders may not be taxed at first, be assured they will be after 5-10 years, and that tax will be on wages, not cigarettes, alcohol, or some other sin tax. It could be a Value Added Tax (Vat), as so many of the European countries have done. In any event the health care bill will result in several unrelated things, fewer jobs, lower wages, and lower/less quality in health care. I lived in Europe for years and have said we in the United States have the highest quality of health care in the world today. It may be expensive and not always available to everyone, ie: the rich can still get care most of us can’t (see what Sen Teddy Kennedy got for his brain cancer) but it is the best. European countries have more care available, but at a much lower quality. Time will tell what it is we get, let us hope it works for us, and if it does not, that changes can be made to water it down to a footnote in history.
1. If the senate passes health care reform then the two bills will be merged to one for the president to sign (there will be differences between them to reconcile)
2. what this means for you? You will have to have insurance coverage of some kind. There will be a variety of options for you depending on your income and other factors.
You could be covered under your parents family plan
You could be covered by a plan from your employer
You could be covered by a plan you purchase on your own (or with the help of subsidies if you meet income requirements)
You could be covered by a government sponsored plan if you meet the income requirements.
The majority of the health care reform bill centers around ways to help people in lower income brackets to pay for insurance.
Please don’t fall for all the bogus crap being spewed by uniformed people. This boils down to minor tax increases in the higher brackets. For the majority of Americans there won’t be any noticable differences.
It will now be debated endlessly, but the bottom line is the govt that spent $24,000 a car on Cash-For-Clunkers will then be running your health care.
That the administration now in power is seeking to wipe out our economy and turn the US into the USSA a 2nd or 3rd world nation. Jobless, without the means to manufacture, etc. Just wait until they get to Cap and Trade all for a reduction in Carbon while most scientist are saying it was the sun’s activity that previously caused the planet to warm and which has for the last 4 years caused global cooling. But hey, what a great excuse it is to turn the US economy into one that is at a complete stand still with people on bread lines. That agenda is very obvious, once you do a little research.
My question is how in the H*** did this bill get passed when it’s obvious there are SO MANY who VEHEMENTLY oppose it!!??
the taxes will go high, and dont know if all the 1.1 trillion dollars will go in right hand. I am not from US but I am tracking the news. And yes I am from health care industries.
People from lower class will get little supports, but considering the fact that there are only around 7% people in entire US, why to spend 9% of total US GDP behind it. That is why 40 democrats are against this bill and only one republican voted for it.
What I understand is, Mr obama wants some more popularity, also Its not a time to spend this huge amount behind health care. it could be used provide more financial support to the company facing problems. If you have heard what Representatives Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming said: “It is a giant increase in an already bloated bureaucracy that is going to add to our debt and our deficit. It is going to be something our children and grand children will be paying back long after we’ve used these services.”
