yes, he’s young, good looking, and from a swing state the democrats ignored for months.
He is a good choice. Condi Rice is the best choice.
Mccain is going to be our 44th President, and Mitt Romney will probably be his VP.
Well NO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
He is killing the residents of Florida right now…..
That is the one thing that will make me not vote for him………
And I’m a Hillary supporter…… looking at voting at McCain….
guess we Florida folks will get screwed twice if Crist runs with McCain.,,, But at least he would be out of Florida…. and let the rest of the country have some of him.
No help with triple increase on homeowners insurance…
yes I said “Triple ” in price on homeowners insurance…..and before anyone says,,,, well you live on the coast you can pay for the cost….being in Florida was not a choice for our family,,,, it was because of job loses in Texas…….It could be your neighborhood next…..
Major cuts in School budgets,,,, city services,,, ect….
You have some good rational and he may very well chose Crist.
But here are some things to consider:
1. FL will probably go to mccain anyways. Barack doesn’t do as well with Seniors as most democrats, and that is a big part of the Florida Democrat base.
2. McCain needs OH votes. He is dead in the water if he loses Ohio, he can’t win PA.
Really I would like to see Mike Huckabee be the VP. Since McCain will win the GE.
I think he is the most likely candidate, and as you mentioned, he does help carry Florida, which would be almost certain to vote republican again this year in an election against Obama if Obama doesn’t try to seat the Florida primary delegates. (I think it would be wise of Obama to start campaigning for those delegates to count now).
Personally, if I were McCain I would try to get Colin Powell, or another military general as VP who has views similar to McCains. I think he would be wise to highlight his strengths with his VP rather than to compensate for his weaknesses. If he can keep the discussion on his strengths and have a VP who is seen as an expert in areas where McCain is strong, who shares his positions, it could counter the Bush-lite argument and turn a potential shortfall into a strong suit.
Of course, Obama having Jim Webb as his likely VP will make foreign policy the center issue in a year where the Dem.’s look prepared to win an election based off of the economy and domestic agenda, so both candidates may try to highlight there domestic strengths or gain ground on the domestic/ economic front and prove me dead wrong.
